Have seen the same issue at least 3 times. Once for sure with the "Special Scoring -
All regions with the most Caballeros are scored immediately" Action card.

I have had the same thing happening (i was at the same table as Travelin Eli and was at the receiving end of the stick :( very frustrating ! )

Turn 146 - I chose the action to score the region with most caballeros in it, because everybody had some in them but me, and the playets comming after me would benefit the most, so i wanted to block them - i chose the card, placed my caballero's, and then the action was performed without an option not to choose it...

It happened earlier in the game (I think) when opponent pyonfey mad a similar ridiculous choice to score somthing that benefitted not him but two other players (me not being one of them)

It was 10 to 20 points my opponents got handed where they shouldn't have - a real shame because overall the gameplay feels very much like the real deal

Today, was unable to skip action after allocation of caballeros, it have triggered automatically.
It was not my first time.
This is a critical failure altering the game completely.

I've checked the replay from a similar case of mine and i think i've found the problem. I play from mobile phone, and on it the button "place caballeros and skip the action" isn't visible.
It's visible only if you play with the phone in panoramic mode.

@spip74: I cannot reproduce on mobile in replay. Can you make a screenshot with browser+version? And please pay attention, that placing-caballeros for that move is chosen BEFORE action.

This is a serious UX bug with a huge effect on scoring. The game *does* give you the option to not perform the card action, but this choice is not given to the user in isolation. It is lumped in with another choice to confirm placement of caballeros, and it is also "hidden" behind a non-blue button.

Question 1: "You may choose between placing caballeros and action [Use action] [Place caballeros]."

Question 2: (screenshotted above): "You may place 0 / 3 caballeros [Confirm placement of caballeros] [Cancel] [Confirm placement of caballeros and skip action]."

The BGA/Web conventions for button colors are that (a) standard buttons should always be blue and do only one thing, and (b) only cancel/undo buttons should be red or white.

Please make it a separate step in the flow to prompt the user to either use or not use the special action. This decision does not belong in the place caballeros phase.

I see, that the current solution is not ideal. But I have to see, if I find the time to do this another way. It would require some big code changes for this, so it is not as simple as it seems.

Awesome. I understand. Thanks for considering this.

Alternatively, a quick code hack could be to reorder and change the copy on the buttons to read "[Confirm placement and perform action][Confirm placement and skip action][Cancel]" (...blue then blue then white buttons). This kind of change would remove confusion for me, at least.

Can you maybe instead change the color of the button? The "confirm and skip action" button is the same color as the background, which makes it easy to not realize there is a button there. If the button were yellow or orange maybe, it would stand out as an actual option rather than blend in with the ribbon its on.

Belated thank you for the workaround!

I have been enjoying this game more the last couple of months. And while the buttons are now a little wordy, I haven't once gotten messed up by the logic flow like I did before. Thanks!
