Scroll a couple responses down to Alfred Nieprachin's comment and you can learn exactly why ai advocate for drafting. Mind that I'm not saying we should force it, only that it becomes the default instead of "get random things that wother screw you over or make you win without thinking". Drafting makes the game much more balanced and strategic plus teaches people to think about what they'll end up playing while picking the cards to begin with.

I think it would be disastrous if new players were guided to draft before they learn how to play well. Your characterisation of the normal mode is very wrong.

The author says in the rules, "Draft Variants. After you become reasonably familiar with the artifacts, you may wish to try these variants."

1) The Normal Mode is without drafting. We should not change that.

2) The author clearly states the reason: you need to be reasonably familiar with the artifacts beofre you start drafting.

If you want to draft, just select that option.

I disagree. it should be newbie friendly.
After u get used to the game, just change it URSELF.

For newcomers, the default game will remain "First Game", as per game rules.

You can simply update your preference to avoid matchmaking with first game in the lobby.

This is an interesting thread. I'm fairly new to the game and I think playing normal mode first was not the best experience. I actually didn't like the game at all until I discovered draft, which seems to be an integral part of the strategy in the game. Now I love it.
