Two alternative suggestions on how to implement this:

a) By default a table number is expected

A checkbox to indicate the suggestion is table number independent.

If checked, no table number will be needed.
If unchecked, a table number can be entered to better ilustrate the suggestion.

b) By default a table number is not expected

A checkbox to indicate the suggestion would be better ilustrated with a table number.

If checked, a table number can be entered to better ilustrate the suggestion.
If unchecked, no table number will be needed.

I totally disagree with that suggestion.

If a bug concerns a game, you must have detected it during a game. Even if the problem is encountered at the time of the creation of the game, even though no game number has been assigned, the game number is still necessary to determine the relevant version of the implementation.

The reference to a game situation is usually an essential part of a bug description.
While many writers fail to indicate a necessary move number, it would be counterproductive to encourage the writing of inoperative bug reports.

@Borup: Suggestions are currently treated as bugs. If the processing needs to be different, you might as well use a separate suggestion management system from that of bugs.

In which case, I wouldn’t mind not providing a game number for suggestions.

When being asked: "WHAT IS THIS REPORT ABOUT?", you just have to add another option called "About a game, suggestion" and then provide a field to select the game.

A table number is always needed as a reference (if only to allow to check of the state of the adaptation at the time when the suggestion was made; suggestion may not be applicable for further versions; the developer always needs a reference to be able to understand the report, bug or suggestion).

A help icon has been added with some extra information about the table number to help understand/locate the appropriate table number for the next release; I think this answers and solves this suggestion.

When you make a suggestion to a game, no actual game is involved. So no need for a table number.
