G4merSKTrashCanThis is the advanced tutorial. It will show the basics on how to get maximum score consistently.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment000
G4merSKTrashCanYou need to try to follow these guidelines:
A) Be as efficient with your clues as possible.
That means:
- NEVER mark a useless card (copy of a card, that's already in play).
- Use a colour-clue as much as possible to indicate playable cards.
B) Save as many 2s and 3s as you can. Always save unique cards (such as 5s, and the last copy).

G4merSKTrashCanStart with saving useful cards. There are 12 unknown cards to start with. Since every card has a 30% chance of being a 1, it is expected that there are 3.6 1s to start with. If you don't see three 1s in a hand, a 1-clue is weak.
In this case, 1-clue is weak, blue-clue would cause a misplay of b2, 3-clue would mark a useless copy, and 4-clue would save a card that doesn't need saving.1playerframe_84367705000
G4merSKTrashCanIt is good practice for G4merSKTrashCan to NOT give a 1s-clue to TheVoiceOfSauron, until he knows 100% certain that he won't clue a copy 1.1playername_85052907000
G4merSKTrashCanTo avoid losing b1, he tells colour, instead of number. Now, if a copy b1 is in G4merSKTrashCan's hand, TheVoiceOfSauron can discard his b1 (since he is the only one who has all the information). The blue-clue was not a total waste, since the 2 got clarified as b2.1playername_84367705000
G4merSKTrashCanThis is a tricky situation. The g1 and y1 are still needed. But G4merSKTrashCan's 1 could be yellow or green. Also, the r3 needs to be saved, since it is unique. Also the 5 needs to be saved.
It is good practice to interpret number-clues that mark the oldest card as 'save'. So a 5-clue (to save 5), would mean "play", since the 5 is not in danger of being discarded.1playername_84367705000
G4merSKTrashCanIf a 5-clue would be given now, it would mean save. However, then there is a risk of losing g1.
By giving yellow-clue, it means play y1. If y1 gets discarded, G4merSKTrashCan will know his last 1 is yellow, so he can safely clue g1. Otherwise, he can risk losing g1, since it has become a 50/50 chance. (And there are two more g1's in the deck.)1playername_84367705000
G4merSKTrashCanA number clue (3-clue) on the oldest card, means 'save'. Even though these 3s are not unique, it greatly improves the odds of getting a maximum score.1playername_85052907000
G4merSKTrashCanA white-clue could not be given, since this would also mark the (useless w1). Therefore a 2-clue was given. Since this did NOT mark the oldest card, it should be interpreted as a play-clue.1playername_84367705000
G4merSKTrashCanSince useless cards are never marked, TheVoiceOfSauron can assume that his yellow is useful. The only remaining useful yellow card, is y5. So he can play this card, without knowing it is 5.1playername_84367705000
G4merSKTrashCanAs you can see... If you save cards early on, and be efficient with your clue-tokens, it is quite easy to get the maximum score.1playerframe_84367705000
