All rules from the Base Game remains the same with some exceptions presented below:
SETUP:
At the start of the game each player takes a new Player board with Irrigation spaces marked on it.
Place a new Mill board near the Major Improvements board. Draw 3 random Mills card and place them face-up on the Mill board. Place corresponding Mill tiles below them on the Mill board. Return all remaining Mill cards and tiles to the box.
Place a new Action board near the Main board.
Place all new tokens (Irrigation, Fruits, Cider) in easy reach of all players.
IRRIGATION:
Each player starts with 3 spaces “connected” to the Irrigation.
Irrigation can be created using a special action on the new Action board; they can only be constructed as branches of already existing Irrigation.
They enhance all adjacent fields.
DURING HARVEST:
As a first step during Harvest each fruit tree grows by one "level" for each irrigation adjacent to the tree. If a tree would grow beyond level 4, it grows to level 4 and produces one fruit (regardless of how much it exceeded level 4). If there is no irrigation adjacent, the tree does not grow.
Gather one resource from each field for each irrigation adjacent to that field (if there is no irrigation adjacent, you do not gather any resources from that field).
Multiply one pair of animals for each irrigation adjacent to the pasture with those animals (e.g., there are 6 sheep in the pasture, and there are two irrigations adjacent to it. During harvest, two pairs will reproduce, producing two new sheep). If there is no irrigation adjacent to the pasture, the animals will not reproduce.
At the end of the game, each Room adjacent to Irrigation is worth +1VP.
Mills can only be placed on fields adjacent to irrigation, and their strength depends on the number of adjacent irrigations.
FRUITS & FRUIT TREES:
Fruits are a new resource obtained from fruit trees and Action board.
When planting a Fruit Tree place 1 Wood token on an empty space on your Player board. This Wood represents your Fruit Tree.
Fruit Trees grow every Harvest depending on the number of Irrigation adjacent to it. When a fruit Tree grows place a Wood token on top of already existing Fruit tree for every “level” it grows.
Maximum level of the Fruit Tree is 4 (so you can have maximum 4 Wood tokens on a single space representing a Fruit Tree)
At any time, you can cut down a tree using a free action to collect all the wood from that field.
You cannot cut down the tree partially.
Fruits can be exchanged at any time for 1 food,
At the end of the game Fruits are worth VP (-1/1/2/3/4 VP for 0/1/ 2-3 / 4-5 / 6+ Fruits)
You can turn Fruits into Cider by using an Action space.
Cider can be exchanged at any time for 2 food or you can discard a Cider to “go drink with a friend” and place your worker on already occupied action space.
Each Cider is worth 1 VP at the end of the game (no more than the number of VP gained from Fruits).
MILLS
Can be build using a Major Improvement Action space.
After build, despite being a Major Improvement, you do not take a Mill card (leave it on the Mill board). Instead, each mill has a token representing it—when built, place appropriate Mill token on any empty field on your Player board adjacent to irrigation. Then, mark the number of Irrigation adjacent to the newly build mill with your Mill personal token.
Each time you build an Irrigation adjacent to any of your Mills, move your personal Mill token to the appropriate space.
After build you may instantly perform that Mill action.
After build, each Mill becomes an action available to all players, but if another player uses it, the mill owner receives some benefit.
At the end of the Work phase, one by one in player order, each Person placed on the Mill may be moved to another unoccupied action space and resolve it.
The strength of the Mill Action is directly proportional to the number of Irrigation adjacent to the Mill (you can check it by looking at the number marked with its controller personal token on the Mill board)
At the end of the game each Mill is worth VP equal to the number of Irrigation adjacent to it.
MILL CARDS
Feed Mill
Cost: 2 Wood, 1 Reed
You may pay 1 Wheat to gain 1 Animal of the type you already have. When performing this Action you may do this number of times equal to the number of Irigations adjacent to the Mill.
When another player uses this Mill action its controller gains Wheat equal to the Wheat spent by this player.
Feed Mill 2 Cost: 1 Wood, 1 Reed, 1 Clay, 1 Stone (X Total - X is equal to the number of Irigations adjacent to the space where you want to place the Mill. Each resource must be different) You may pay X different resources to gain up to X fields. When another player uses this Mill action its controller gains Resources spent by this player.
Sawmill Cost: 2 Clay You may pay 1 Wood to gain 2 Fences / 1 Stable in any combination. When performing this Action you may do this number of times equal to the number of Irigations adjacent to the Mill. When another player uses this Mill action its controller gains Wood equal to the Wood spent by this player.
Grind Mill - use when playing with the cards. Cost: 1 Clay, 3 Stone You may build a Small Improvement for free with a total resource cost of X or less (You still need to fulfill Small Improvement requirements). When another player uses this Mill action its controller gains Resources equal to the builded Impovement cost.
Grain Mill Cost: 1 Clay, 3 Wood Gain a Bake Bread action. During Bake a bread action you may pay 1 Wheat to gain 4 Food. You may do it number of times equal to the number of Irigations adjacent to the Mill. When another player uses this Mill action its controller gains Wheat equal to the Wheat spent by this player.
NEW ACTION SPACES
Fertilization
Grow Fruit Trees on your Player board by one “level”. If this would grow the tree over the 4th “level”, gain 1 fruit instead. Additionally, you may add 1 Vegetable/Wheat on the top of any of your Vegetable/Wheat fields.
Cider Artisan You may gain 1 Fruit and pay any number of Fruits to gain the same number of Cider.
Irrigation You may pay 2/3/4 Wood to build 1/2/3 Irrigations and gain 1 Clay.
Plant a Fruit Tree You may pay 1/3/5 food to plant 1/2/3 Fruit Trees on your Player board.
